an opportunity to do your PhD research in France

 Each year, China Scholarship Council (CSC) gives away a number of scholarships to support excellent Chinese students to carry out their PhD research overseas. You will be registered at University of Lille 1, which is one of the leading science universities in France and the oldest, largest public university at Lille (http://www.univ-lille1.fr/home/). It attracts many international students each year. The city: Lille is a beautiful city hosting many public/private universities/schools in the north of France. (As a matter of fact, people call Lille “university town”.) Thanks to its location, it is very convenient to travel from Lille to Brussels and London by train; it only takes one hour travelling from Paris to Lille by train.   

 

While you will be registered at University of Lille 1, you will conduct your research with me at our Paris campus. As a professor, I work with IESEG school of management. IESEG school of management is one of the top business schools in France and is double accredited by AACSB and EQUIS (http://www.ieseg.fr/en/home/). It has a true international working environment with almost 90% of faculty members are foreigners. Its Paris campus is located at La defense, Paris. La defense is the Europe’s largest business district and hosts the headquarters of many giant international/French companies (http://www.ladefense.fr/).

 

There are several interesting research topics, from which you can choose one to work on. They include Developing open configuration for product customization, Investigating service platforms for improving business performance of healthcare providers, and Investigating integrated sales, product, and production configuration for product customization. You can also work on your own topic if you have started it. In either case, I will give you support. 

 

Requirements for you: 

Already received an MSc degree or finished the MSc thesis and is waiting for the defense. Have a background in Industrial engineering, automation, applied math., computer science, information systems. Have good math and programming knowledge. Excellent English writing. You need to obtain the scholarship from CSC.
