Opportunities for Graduate Studies at the University of Kansas


Ph.D. positions in Dynamic Systems and Control are available in Dr. Huazhen Fang's group at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Kansas. The Ph.D. projects will be concerned with advanced control theory for energy applications. The candidates will work on theoretic and applied research involving optimal estimation, system identification, intelligent control, battery management and building energy control. It is expected that the best opportunities and guidance will be offered to maximize the students' chances to succeed as a Ph.D. researcher.


Highly self-motivated students who demonstrate a strong academic track record are encouraged to apply. A background in automation and control, electric engineering, electronic engineering, computer science and mathematics will be desirable. A master's degree is preferred but not required. The successful applicants, subject to admission to the PhD degree program, will be awarded a competitive scholarship covering both tuition and living expenses.
